The Plant Conservation Program focuses on the preservation and restoration of listed plant species in the upper Midwest and all of the native Minnesota orchids. Our research is focused on the propagation, seed banking, restoration, and reintroduction of these species. This work is being used to develop the most beneficial in situ and ex situ conservation practices for all of the plant species we work with. Our program is proudly located at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, giving us direct opportunities to engage with the public about plant conservation and the ability to display some of Minnesota’s fantastic and charismatic plant species that many people may be unable to see otherwise.
